Several years ago we were staying for a week on the  Île Saint-Louis  in Paris and when I went out to get our breakfast bread I was mesmerized by the light coming under the bridge on an otherwise gray morning. With all of the news of Paris, I revisited my sketches and was inspired to work on this juxtaposition of the everyday with the everflowing water and light.
